Fingers and Thumbs
Marion Seath and Dawn Adam, professional artists and designers, founders and owners of fingers and thumbs.
Daughter of professional photographers, Dawn studied at the Cumbria College of Art (art and design), Bath Academy of Art (BA in visual communications) and Brunell University (BA in furniture restoration). This has led her to work all over the world – as a designer, art consultant, interior designer, photographer and furniture restorer. While living in Tokyo she taught English through art and craft and later established her own business teaching English.
Marion is a jewellery-maker and silversmith. She grew up in North Berwick – and is delighted to have returned to the town and ‘settled down’ with her husband.
Marion has several years’ experience of working with a wide range of craft disciplines and, as a volunteer Brownie leader for seven years, has lots of experience of teaching her skills to children. In 2007, following a career in dental hygiene, she attended Carnegie College and gained an HNC in jewellery-making and silversmithing. Items from her ever-popular jewellery collection are available to buy from fingers and thumbs.
