Testimonials

I’ve been visiting Scotland annually from Honolulu, Hawaii for the past six years. In those six years, I have repeatedly stayed in North Berwick for five those. I was searching for a place to stay in the eastern coastal area of Scotland and stumbled upon North Berwick. During that search I found Puffins Lookout & Palace. I immediately liked the apartment and location. I wrote to the owner (John O’Brien) requesting for a booking and quote for my dates, he immediately responded and the rest is history.

I chose North Berwick because of Puffins Lookout & Palace location right along the beach, John makes the checking in and out so convenient and his personality is so easy going and likable. When I entered the apartment I immediately felt like it was my home away from home. The view, the coziness and size of the place, the amenities, and the welcoming gift are my main reasons for returning and never looking elsewhere. The town location is just a short and scenic walk to get groceries and restaurants. Every morning when I awake I sit at the bay window drinking my coffee or tea and take in my view of the sea. It motivates me to get out every day to walk along the beach and talk to the locals.

The town is quaint and has everything I may need or want in a vacation. The Cafe’s, Restaurant and Pubs are charming and when the owners or staff realize that I am a lone traveler they make the effort to sit down, chat and give me pointers of their little town. That and my flat are the reasons why I return to North Berwick every year for “My Me Time”. When I return from my trip, my husband child and friends see the affect it has on me that they encourage and support these “Me Times”.

People ask me all time why Scotland? My response every time is….when I first landed in Edinburgh I felt I was finally HOME (and this is coming from a girl born and raised in Guam and Hawaii).

My thanks to John and Scotland.
