National Museum of Flight

Amazing aircraft. Unforgettable stories. One incredible day out.

Head off on a journey of discovery at this former airfield and explore the history of aviation from the First World War to the present day. Fill your day with interactive exhibitions, supersonic experiences, historic hangars, an assault course and acres of green grass and fresh air.

Find out how developments in civil aviation have helped to connect communities, allowing people to travel short distances more easily and opened up opportunities to fly for fun.

In our Military Aviation hangar, examine the roles that aircraft have played in conflict throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

Elsewhere on site, climb on board Scotland’s only Concorde, learn more about the history of this historic airfield and get hands-on in our family-friendly interactive gallery, Fantastic Flight.

Refuel at The Aviator Café or enjoy a picnic in our outdoor picnic areas, then pick up a souvenir in our museum shop.
